JANUARY 2012
Happy New Year!!! It’s 2012 and on a personal tip … I am engaged to be married to the man of my dreams. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! It makes me smile to think that GOD used my second public performance (as a singer) singing my song “Hurry Up” off the album “Wounded Soul” Vol 1&2 to help me leave a good impression on him!
Well my upcoming album is getting closer to complete. However, my novel is coming along at a much slower rate … due to my attention being drawn to handling the business side of things. But, no worries though … I know that by God’s grace I will finish my book. I just pray it will be a bestseller for many good reasons and that my album will also do very well. I’m just going to believe that they will both do very well … starting now!
Anyways, stay tuned for more. This year looks very promising and I know that GOD always rewards those who trust & believe in HIM. I’m counting on it!

The last couple of months has been interesting, stressful, and surprising to say the least but I suppose, creating original music & art, while learning how to be a great business person is never easy. With that said, I must say this past year has taught me a lot more about who is willing to support In The Closet Productions mission & vision to be “a voice for the voiceless” and who is willing to support our original music and art. I am very greatful for this understanding. It allows me to move forward knowing the truth about the path I have chosen (a road less travelled) and with hopeful expectation that in 2012 God will begin to move & shake up some things for me … by making way for some of my greater requests (I made out to HIM in 2009, 2010, and 2011) to be answered. Request that I have not given up on (my greater goals) but I have faith that they will be granted in HIS perfect timing, not mine. Knowing this … I must admit … makes me very excited, motivated, inspired and looking forward to a powerful and very successful new year as a singer, songwriter, poet, spoken word artist, short film maker, public speaker, overcomer, and founder of In The Closet Productions. Knowing this makes me excited for 2012 because I trust that the tide is turning and GOD is doing something great for me and my company behind closed doors. Great things that involve a release of all the good things HE has promised me. Things that were previously held back, delayed, denied, hindered, stolen, and hidden from me. Things that I will use to be a blessing in other people’s lives. This is my prayer for 2012 (the year of RELEASE) and I trust that GOD will answer my humble petitions. In fact, He has already started to do just that … with my first successful grant application in the MUSIC industry! I am so grateful!
FACTOR has decided to be the first of many (God willing) organizations to give financial support to my musical efforts. Thank you FACTOR!

Stay tuned for more good news, God willing, in 2012! Thank you for your continued support and Have a wonderful Christmas & safe New Year!

Happy Civic Holiday! Summer is slowly coming to an end
However, things are sounding really great on the first couple of songs I have recorded with my band and more songs are pouring out of my pen. I am praying that you will love these new songs and I believe that I will be blessed with more than enough songs for my next album, after this one. GOD is good!
Furthermore, I have been honored with a request to be included in a local publication for women. It will be out in the Fall! I am very excited and very honored. I didn’t expect the phone call but I am so grateful. It’s a sign that all my hard work and prayers have not been in vain. I will let you know more as the press release draws near.
Things are really looking up! I am going to speak in faith that this Fall and going forward things will be picking up for me and my band. Let’s see how everything turns out, shall we.
In the meantime, Check out the updated funding page and store page to support us in our mission and vision. Thank you!

NOVEMBER, 2010
I am looking forward to doing a little recording this month (HOT 103 Christmas album). It inspires me for the 12 new songs I am waiting to bring to life.
I am also performing for Canada Music Week recital as part of my vocal training. It was refreshing to learn that Chantal Kreviazuk also took lessons at my school. She was here recently touring. Hopefully one day I will see my blessings in music manifest into a beautiful, exciting, prosperous reality, as she has, if not more. I trust that JESUS will do this for me, through others, at the right time.
Last month was a huge blessing. I am growing as a live, vocal, performer and I thank JESUS for the progress I am making & for my band. It feels good to get a standing ovation and to experience how it feels to touch some ones heart. I pray for many, many more moments like these in my humble beginnings. I pray to touch the hearts, souls, & minds of men, women, and children with my mission & all my gifts. :)
OCTOBER, 2010
I am finally learningto let go & trust JESUS for every opportunity! Why? Because life is more peaceful that way and besides I believe I have something to offer. I have something good to give. My music, my creativity, and my life story are all worth sharing. I will keep u posted.

Comprised of two CDs, Ready for Change and Ready to Love, Wounded Soul is a sprawling, emotional and intoxicating blend of R&B, hip hop and spoken-word. It all stems from the indefatigable spirit of Ingrid D. Johnson, a born-again singer/songwriter whose work is intensely personal but also eminently catchy. When she’s not being a chanteuse (Tired, Un Loveable or Hurry Up), she’s delivering fierce spoken-word rants or joining the likes of Fenom, Maiko Watson, NDU and Flo on jams such as My Soul, You & Me or Time for a Change. A portion of the proceeds is being donated to The Laurel Centre.

“Using her music to heal wounded souls”
http://www.winnipegsun.com/entertainment/music/2010/01/20/12547226.html
Last Updated: 20th January 2010, 5:51pm
In a world of shallow, self-centred pop music, Ingrid D. Johnson is clearly an artist with a higher calling. The local singer, poet and spoken-word performer uses her music to overcome the trauma of sexual abuse. Not surprisingly, Johnson speaks from the heart — even when answering my dumb questions.

Johnson’s evolving songwriting, arranging, producing skills to create the final product. The result is a musical (23 songs) and spoken word journey (5 tracks) through the chaos, pain, joy, and peace of personal, romantic, and spiritual relationship.
